TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM
AmerAlia, Inc.
October 19, 1999
Page 11
Concentrations of TDS, trace constituents, and pH increase downstream. Some seasonal effects are
apparent, with electric conductivity and TDS lowest during the month of February.
6.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that water quality data be collected monthly for a period of six consecutive months
from the sites specified in the "Surface and Ground Water Monitoring Plan" for the Project site. After
this time, the site-specific data should be compared to the existing information compiled in this
document. Correlation between the data should be analyzed to see if the existing data is useful in
characterizing background water quality and quantity for the Project site. If a good correlation is found,
the results should be discussed with the Colorado State Division of Minerals and Geology in regards to a
variance to the standard five consecutive quarters background water quality collection period.
7.0 REFERENCES
' Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, 1999.
