• <br />Recision p 1 -Page 7 nl 70 <br />A 10-ft to 20-ft lens of sand ,gravel and cobble ma[erial is located under the overburden material <br />described above. This material will be extracted and processed. In general, the upper portion of <br />this lens contains more fine-gained sand ma[erial. Cobbles within the lens are anticipated to <br />range in size upto sixteen inches in diameter. <br />Below the sand and gavel lens is weathered silty clay Mancos Shale, which is considered bedrock <br />in this portion of Mesa County. Mancos Shale is a dark gray-to-gray block, thin-bedded to <br />laminated shale with interbeds of siltstone and sandstone. <br />(gl ldenr~ the primary and secondary commodrties to be mined/eztracled and describe the intended use: <br />The primary commodities are sand and gravel which will be used for construction materials. <br />Secondary commodities consist of the overburden soils, which will be used, along with additional <br />inert imported materials, for backftll to reclaim the project site. Overburden soil may also be <br />needed for'`fines" to produce the road base materials. <br />(h) Name and describe the Intended use ojall expected incidental products to be mined/extracled b}~ the <br />proposed operation. <br />Incidental produce mined from the site consist of overburden soils which will be used primarily <br />for site backtill / reclama[ion.
