i

Precautions should be taken to prevent the movement of soil
from the pit to the White River during any major moisture event.
While the effects of siltation on Squawfish or River Otters is
unknown, it would be in the best interest of these species to
prevent an increase in the white River silt load.
It would also be of benefit to the wildlife if some type of
shrub species could be added to the plant species being used to
reclaim the site. Plant mixtures that consist mainly of grasses
do not provide the diversity in the plant community that is
required by many wildlife species. A shrub species palatable to
mule deer and antelope would greatly improve this area as winter
range.
cc: D. Prenzlow
File
Div.
