WRITTEN COMMENT <br /> <br />~: <br />._.. <br />G.` <br />.... <br />r~ <br />~~ <br />The City of Rifle's water intake structure is located approximately one quarter (1/4) mile <br />downstream from Roaring Fork Resources' proposed gravel mining operation. The location of , <br />the proposed mine in such close proximity to the Colorado River and the City's water intake ~` <br />structure raises a number of issues with regard to the mine's impacts on the City's water quality <br />and supply, as well as the mine's impacts on the Colorado River itself. <br />A. Required Permits <br />Applicant's proposed mining operation will constitute a major undertaking, raising <br />numerous issues under the CWA §§ 401 and 404 permitting process.
