-3-
Administration.
The underground mine openings in the area are known and are
clearly visible. These areas will be designated with markers.
Advancing strip operations will proceed horizonally across these
areas and any intercepts that occur will be anticipated and
expected by mine personnel thus maximizing the safety of the
operation.
All mine personnel will be briefed, and given maps, of
possible intercepts, and all mine personnel will, under the
direction of a certifiied surfiace mine foreman, be given
inspection tours of specific areas where intercepts are know to
occur.
Management ofi Rimrock Coal Company has several years
experience in strip mining in situations involving intercepts
with abandoned underground workings that were accident firee. It
is anticipated that in the event that underground workings are
encountered coal recovery can continue through these areas in a
safe and efficient manner.
Fit widths are expected to range between 100 feet and 250
fleet.
Loose material from the highwall is not expected to become a
problem. The highwall creased by mining will be back dragged
with a dozer when necessary. during each lift ofi overburden
removal to remove loose material.
°~'~°(J~'ED C'~~S ~~ ~~ ~~~ r~~t j'c!~
