<br /> <br />-2- <br />wall height ranging firom 60 to 100 fleet. <br />The highwall will be excavated at a safe slope and will be <br />benched where necessary. <br />Spoil pile height is not expected to exceed 35 fleet. The <br />spoil pile will have stable side slopes not exceeding 1 vert.- <br />1.5 Hor. and the pile will be compacted and revegetated to <br />maximize stability and minimize erosion. <br />All areas of the mining and processing operation will be <br />controlled and posted with the proper signs and markers to guard <br />against unauthorized entry. <br />Only personnel with the required training, orientation, and <br />experience will have access to areas requiring such personnel to <br />operate the mine and processing facility. <br />Mining methods and design will be selected to ensure safie <br />working conditions, and highwalls, pits, and spoil banks will be <br />periodically monitored and inspected daily for stability. <br />Surface mining will occur within 500 feet of abandoned <br />underground mine workings. It is expected pit areas will <br />intercept fringe areas of underground workings. A dragline will <br />be used to strip overburden from the abandoned underground <br />workings. <br />Improved resource recovery will result as well as <br />elimination of hazards. All old mine openings encountered <br />through stripping will be sealed in accordance with the <br />requirements of the Division and the Mine Safety and Health <br /> <br />
