Early analysis was as specified by the then current
EPA standards for water pollution.
Occidental Oil Shale, Inc. will apply to the Water Quality
Control Commission for a subsurface disposal permit prior to
conducting any further retort burns.
Due to the very small amounts of water encountered in the
mining zone at Logan Wash, any disturbance to the prevailing
hydrologic balance will be minimal. A long term water balance
and other hydrologic relationships will be determined through
the Hydrologic Monitoring Program now being implemented through
a joint program with the Department of Energy. Details of this
program can be made available if desired.
