III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
5 I~ 4,0 PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
• Doc Date:12/11/2001
•
4,02 PROPOSED INVENTORY OF SIGNS AND MARKERS
No.
Mine Identification Signs 1
Speed Limit Signs 2
Perimeter Markers 3
National specifications for speed limit signs are as follows:
Outside dimensions 24" horizontal x 30" vertical. Speed limit
numbers are 10" in height and lettering is 3" high. These speed limit
signs will be designed to meet these specifications and will be posted in
areas of superior visibility. The mine identification sign will be loca-
ted at the beginning of the access road leading into the property. Peri-
meter markers will be placed in the most conspicuous places around the
mine bench.
• Blue Flame Coal Mine specifies that three signs will mark the
perimeter of the topsoil stockpile. 6" x 10" signs constructed of dura-
ble wood with "topsoil stockpile" painted on them and mounted on typical
metal fenceposts will be maintained in a highly visible manner,
The type of perimeter markers that will be employed follows:
French post poles to be driven into the ground at intervals of
100 feet, These fenceposts will then be spray painted Blaze Orange to
identify the perimeter of the affected area.
4,03.1 ROADS
To the best of our knowledge, pre-existing haul roads were de-
signed in accordance with specifications designated at the time of con-
struction. The small nature of the Blue Flame Coal Mine has limited use
of these haul roads. As a consequence, little deterioration has occurred.
However, Blue Flame Coal Company has taken the liberty of designing a road
surface. that meets county requirements in the unlikely event of road con-
• struction.
