about 55 feet in height. The hypotenuse of this triangle is 242 feet and the grade angle is
13 degrees. It is 450 feet across the face west to east. My calculations indicate there are
32,000 square yards to move to cut and fill the high wall and 13,000 yards of riprap for
the face. The disposal pit is 165 feet east to west and 65 feet north to south and will
require about 6 feet of fill or approximately 8,000 yards transported about 2000 feet over
good low grade roads to fill this pit.
The above measurements were made with a steel Brunton surveyors tape on a Brunton
survey line. Fairly accurate I hope.
The cost of removing the scale was calculated on trashing it and it's supporting structure
and placing it in the trash pit prior to covering it.
With Tom Gil]is's patients and expertise, we ran the above measurements and quantities
through the DMG's computerized program and came up with a total cost figure of
$87,116.00. I can visualize further minor tasks of policing and cleaning the trash from the
area which should not exceed $13,000. Therefore, I propose a reclamation bond at this
time of $100,000.00.
Enclosed are copies of the computer generated draft calculations of each task and the
summary.
If you are satisfied with the bond amount of $100,000 let me know and I'll have CLC
post the bond and this phase of the permitting will be finished.
Respectfully submitted,
co s Rant f CLC
cc:
J. Bowers
T. Smith
