Treatment of resort process x+arers is accomplished by oil, grease and sediment separation followed by three evaporation ccUs. A piping systan is installed at the mine sue x4tid~ directs retort Knto to the evaporation ponds located down gradient of t1u mint site within Logan Wash. 7lu evaporation ponds art lined and have a leakage collection system and woe designed to be nondischargtng. The permit specifics that thoe shall be no discharge from the evaporation ponds. Although there has been no recent retort activities, Dames & Moon reprtsentattves stated that the evaporation ponds contain approstmatt(y one foot of water sNSich occumul~es during precipitation events and evaporates during the summer. V. PERFORMANCE A/STORY A. Monitoring Data I. Discharee Monitorine Reoorts -DAD! data from January 1990 to February 1996 indicate that Outfall 001 has had no discharge during the period of review and OutfaB 002 has only discharged within 1993. Altl+ough DMR data was not yet available, the facility stated that OutfaU 002 had discharged from April to May of 1994. Table V-1 sumnwriits the ejjluent data for Outfal1002 reported on the monthly DMR's for the Logan Wash mine site from May to Novtmbo of 1993 During this time pcriod the discharge was continuous.
