Wastewater Treatment Description <br />Discharges from Outfalls 001 and 0102 receive no trcaaneru. Treatment of resort process x+arers is accomplished by <br />oil, grease and sediment separation followed by three evaporation ccUs. A piping systan is installed at the mine sue <br />x4tid~ directs retort Knto to the evaporation ponds located down gradient of t1u mint site within Logan Wash. 7lu <br />evaporation ponds art lined and have a leakage collection system and woe designed to be nondischargtng. The <br />permit specifics that thoe shall be no discharge from the evaporation ponds. Although there has been no recent retort <br />activities, Dames & Moon reprtsentattves stated that the evaporation ponds contain approstmatt(y one foot of water <br />sNSich occumul~es during precipitation events and evaporates during the summer. <br />V. PERFORMANCE A/STORY <br />A. Monitoring Data <br />I. Discharee Monitorine Reoorts -DAD! data from January 1990 to February 1996 indicate that Outfall 001 has had <br />no discharge during the period of review and OutfaB 002 has only discharged within 1993. Altl+ough DMR data <br />was not yet available, the facility stated that OutfaU 002 had discharged from April to May of 1994.
