Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing is
intending to build affordable housing adjacent to the Tannabe property. Our property, known
as Belle Creek, is well on its way to being annexed by Commerce City and receiving all
necessary entitlements to enable its development as for single-family and multi-family
housing. We have been under contract for some time and are well along in our plans.
We consider that the proposed gravel operation is incompatible with our planned housing
community. Belle Creek will contain housing for over 900 families, an elementary school
and a large family & community center. We are very concerned about health issues
associated with gravel mining as well as safety issues associated with same. These uses are
not compatible with each other.
It is my understanding th:it this mining operation is outside the area designated for mining in
the county comprehensive plan.
I strongly request that you disapprove this mining application for the reasons stated above.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
/U /, t~/ _
William J.
