<br />the area covered by the railroad fills. An accurate estimate is <br />not possible as the boundaries between the alluvium and the up- <br />lands are obscured by the fills. <br />Tt is apparent that the material for the fills was ob- <br />tained from the cuts on the site; slope outwash material is <br />clearly identifiable in the fills. No off-site material has <br />been used for the construction. <br />A sedimentation pond has been constructed near the train <br />loadout. Farmers Ditch has been channeled through the train <br />loadout fill, and a minor stream has been rerouted near the <br />silos through a concrete channel, culverts and ditches to con- <br />verge with Farmers Ditch. <br />The loadout facility is bordered on the south and east <br />• by orchards. Portions of the site were apparently used as flood- <br />irrigated orchard land prior to the construction. <br />6.0 CONCLUSIONS APdD RECONIh1ENDATI0N5 <br />6.1 GENERAL <br />We believe that the geomorphic, hydrological and land <br />use data represented in this report are sufficient for us <br />to render an opinion about the AVF's designation both in <br />the Stevens Gulch and North Fork area. <br />• - 19 - <br />ceo~rroao eorisu~nr~,;NC. <br />
