the area covered by the railroad fills. An accurate estimate is
not possible as the boundaries between the alluvium and the up-
lands are obscured by the fills.
Tt is apparent that the material for the fills was ob-
tained from the cuts on the site; slope outwash material is
clearly identifiable in the fills. No off-site material has
been used for the construction.
A sedimentation pond has been constructed near the train
loadout. Farmers Ditch has been channeled through the train
loadout fill, and a minor stream has been rerouted near the
silos through a concrete channel, culverts and ditches to con-
verge with Farmers Ditch.
The loadout facility is bordered on the south and east
• by orchards. Portions of the site were apparently used as flood-
irrigated orchard land prior to the construction.
6.0 CONCLUSIONS APdD RECONIh1ENDATI0N5
6.1 GENERAL
We believe that the geomorphic, hydrological and land
use data represented in this report are sufficient for us
to render an opinion about the AVF's designation both in
the Stevens Gulch and North Fork area.
• - 19 -
ceo~rroao eorisu~nr~,;NC.
