3.
3.1 Analytical Results
Laboratory analysis of the groundwater samples was conducted at STL's Denver, Colorado
facility. Results of the laboratory analyses are provided in Table 2. The Laboratory Data Report
is provided as Appendix B.
Concentrations of metals and other constituents measured in groundwater were compazed with all
applicable CDPHE groundwater quality standards (CDPHE, 2001). Where multiple standazds
exist for a single constituent, the most stringent standard was used. Sulfate concentrations in
groundwater collected at all monitoring wells exceeded the secondary drinking water standazd.
Iron and manganese concentrations in groundwater collected at monitoring wells MW-7, MW-8,
MW-9, MW-10, MW-11, and MW-12 exceeded the secondary drinking water standazd.
Selenium concentrations in groundwater collected at monitoring wells MW-6, MW-10, and MW-
11 exceeded the agricultural standard. Chromium concentrations in groundwater collected at
monitoring wells MW-11 and MW-12 exceeded the agricultural standard. The fluoride and
aluminum concentrations in groundwater collected at monitoring well MW-12 exceeded the
agricultural standards.
3.2 Groundwater Elevations
Measured depth to groundwater data were used to develop groundwater elevation contours
(Figure 2). Groundwater generally flows towards the south to the Arkansas River, as reported by
previous investigators.
J:\Flolcim\GW Monitoring Report\94332186.doc 3-1
