Early analysis was as specified by the then
current EPA standards for water pollution. Subsequently, analysis
has shown no degradation in quality due to in-situ operation. Re-
sults are on file at Occidental's Grand Junction Office where they
may be examined.
The prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land and
of the surrounding area and to the quality and quantity of water
in surface and ground water systems during and after the mining
operations and during reclamation will not be disturbed.
Stabilization management of present and planned retorts will
involve isolating the retort{s) from contact with groundwater or
to isolate such groundwater as may come into contact with the
materials in the retort(s).
