• -z- • <br />1977, this need is augmented by the purchase of water from the <br />Town of De Beque or from others with senior water rights in the <br />area. <br />Being a small development operation, there will not be a <br />measurable, material injury to any senior water rights in the <br />Logan Wash area. <br />WATER QUALITY <br />Surface Water Quality: <br />Six continuously flowing or intermittent streams which might <br />be affected by Occidental's Logan Wash in-situ operations were <br />sampled once each month starting in April, 1975 and continued <br />through May, 1976. Thereafter, a quarterly schedule has been <br />followed. Coors Spectro Chemical Laboratory in Denver, Colorado <br />was selected to analyze the water samples collected. Originally <br />66 constituents were sampled as required by the then current EPA <br />standards for water pollution. Subsequently, the number of <br />constitutents sampled was reduced to 39. Analysis has shown no <br />degradation in quality due to in-situ operations. Results are <br />on file at Occidental's Grand Junction Office, where they may be <br />examined. <br />Sub-surface Water Quality <br />Six alluvial wells are being monitored for level and quality. <br />Samples are taken on a quarterly basis starting in December, 1975 <br />and continuing. Early analysis was as specified by the then <br />current EPA standards for water pollution. Subsequently, analysis <br />has shown no degradation in quality due to in-situ operations.
