SITE DESCRIPTION (co~ ~ Exhibk B
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
There are no man-made structure within 200 feet of the
affected lands except the Siloam Road that runs along a section of
the west permit area. There are no above or below ground communi-
cation lines, bridges, wells, pipelines, water storage impound-
ments, railroad tracks, cemeteries or communication antennas within
200 feet of the affected lands. The site does have a fence along
the west side of the area to be mined; close to and parallel with
Siloam Road. A power line is across Siloam Road from the mined
area. No mining will take place within 140 feet of the closest
pole.
WATER RESOURCES
This is a dry mining operation located in an area predomi-
nantly used as rangeland. There are no ditches or water structures
on or adjacent to the site. The closest stream is Peck Creek
located north of the site approximately 3/4 of a mile. The stream
flows thru a canyon and the stream bed is approximately 160 feet
lower than the mine area. No water is used on the site and we do
not expect the mine area to retain stormwater for any length of
time.
MINING PLAN
EXHIBIT C
6.3.3 - This is an existing open pit rip-rap and decorative
stone operation located 2.75 miles east and 6.25 miles north of
Beulah Colorado, on the east side of Siloam Road. The area is
currently permitted as a Special 111 Permit known as the MUELLER
MZNB permit # M-97-018. The stone will be used to supply material
contracted for by Breckenridge Colorado and to meet the needs of
our customers. This stone is used for retaining walls, rip-rap,
decorative facing on walls, paving stone, landscaping accents and
building stone. We will continue to define other uses for this
stone as our market develops.
Of the 6.26 acres ± permitted approximately 4.00 acres ± will
be mined for large slab stone; the remaining 2.26 acres ! will be
used to collect the rip rap stone, and to store topsoil in the
setbacks around the mined area. There will be no setbacks from the
permit line along the north, east or south sides because eventually
mining will progress into the Bedrock Mine #1 that surrounds this
site (application M-97-086 is pending).
8
