The additional comments are based on information received from Dorsey &
Whitney LLP (representing Pinnacle Pines, LLC) on April 3, 2000 and Ed LaRock of the
Colorado Hazardous Materials & Waste Management Division. Please note that information
received from Mr. LaRock was in resgonse to a Division inquiry regarding the status of
groundwater contamination at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal and surrounding area. I have
attached copies of the information from Dorsey & Whitney LLP and Mr. LaRock for your
review.
EXHIBIT G -WATER INFORMATION
19. Based on the hydrologic concerns for water quality raised by a number of objectors, there
appears to be a strong potential for either existing or future contamination of soils and
groundwater within the proposed affected area. Therefore, in accordance with Rule 6.4.7(b)
please identify all aquifers within the affected land down to the first aquitard and provide a
detailed characterization of such aquifer. Such characterization should include at a minimum the
following pazameters:
average high water depth to groundwater
direction and gradient of groundwater flow
aquifer transmissivity
hydraulic conductivity
expected drawdown rate, if significant, from other wells within 600 feet
proposed pumping rate needed to maintain dewatering trench & keep pit dry
expected drawdown rate of the groundwater surface at the pit during mining
expected cone of depression during mining & reclamation (until liner is completed &/or
dewatering is no longer needed)
