<br />EX}iIBIT D <br /> <br />Ptr. Fred McCullough, Soil Conservation District, was contact- <br />ed on the affected area. The closest category relating to <br />this area is the Soil Purner-Rock Outcrop with a range site <br />description for shallow foothills. (see attached) <br />As shown on the attached Soil Conservation Service Soil <br />Interpretations,for this area [he soil is very shallow gravelly <br />to stony loams over bedrock. Steep ledges and outcrops of <br />"redbed" shale is common. Air, water and root penetration is <br />good but limited by depth to bed rock. Moisture holding capacity <br />is poor. <br />The shale overburden has a pH of &.6 and a conductivity of 1.2 <br />m-mhos/cm. The soil has a pH of 7.86 and conductivity of <br />2.40 m-mhos/cm. <br />
