M92026GE
• This report presents our geotechnical engineering suggestions
and recommendations for planning and design of site development
including:
. Aggregate base course thickness for varying calculated
theoretical design lifes, and
. Fill placement and compaction suggestions and
recommendations.
Our recommendations and suggestions are based on the subsoil
and ground water conditions encountered during our original site
and laboratory studies.
2.0 SITE CHARACTERISTICS
Site characteristics include observed existing and pre-
existing site conditions that may influence the geotechnical
• engineering aspects of the proposed site development.
2.1 Site Location
The proposed project is located on the Orchard Valley Mine
property near Paonia, Colorado. A project vicinity map is
presented on Figure 1.
2.2 Site Conditions
At the time of our original July 1990 site visit the road was
a gravel surface road. The road is about one thousand one hundred
(1100) to one thousand two hundred (1200) feet in length and varies
in width of the gravel surface from about nineteen (19) to twenty
eight (28) feet. The road has one (1) modest fill across Stevens
2
•
~Lam6ert anD ~,o,~otiateo
GO NGUL-NO GEOTECM NIGAL EMGmEERS AND
MATERIAL TESTING
