Topsoil should <br />be stockpiled in a place and iii a manner that it will not be subject <br />to erosion by wind or water. <br />lvhen pit or portions of the pit are no longer usable, the following <br />reclamation guidelines should be followed: <br />* Slone all banks to a 11:1 or flatter. Ylhere natural slope is <br />steeper than l;:1, it is permissible to conform to the natural <br />slope. <br />* Scarify area before spreading topsoil to promote deep root <br />penetration. <br />* Area should be reestablished to native grasses to provide <br />protection from soil erosion and to provide usable forage. <br />rertilize, seed, and mulch as shown on CO-EC:•-5. <br />* rents area to prevent gratin„ b~ domestic animals until ~,zass <br />stand is established. This renuires a minimum of two growing <br />seasons, <br />* llurin~ the first growint season, control weeds by clipping <br />or chemical spraying; each time weeds exceed 6 inches in <br />height. <br />
