Land <br />is presently Wised for rangeland, The site is located on the <br />top of tiie hill with steep slopes to the west. <br />Prec=pitation: Total annual average precipitation is 15 inchee. <br />Approximately 60 percent of this falls between April <br />and September. Average seasonal snowfall is 1;2 inches. <br />Soils: Predominant soils within the proposed site are Truckton <br />and Bresser. Sandy Loams, These two soils make up approx- <br />imately ~J;,, of the area. <br />Truckton typically has a surface <br />sa:idJ loam about 5 inches thick. <br />greyish brown sandy loam about 3 <br />soil is brown sandy loam about 1i <br />stratum is light yellowish brown <br />depth of fi0 inches or more, <br />layer of grayish brown <br />The next layer is dark <br />inches tv.ck, The sub- <br />i inches thick, The sub- <br />coarse sandy loam to a <br />Bresser has a surface layer of bzayish brown sandy loam <br />about 5 inches thick. Available water capacity is soderate. Surface <br />runoff i= medium to rapid ann the hazard o: erosion is <br />moderate to high, Gullies are common along arainage- <br />ways, and soil slippage is common on the steeper slopes. <br />Vegetation: Predominant grasses are Blue Grama, Western l+`heatgrass, <br />Buffalo Grass, and IJeedle and Thread Grass. <br />IJater: The potential for water pollution from this site is minimal. <br />
