8
c. Permit status
d. Benefits of system
e. Problems of system
f. Hardware and labor cost to install
g. Operating cost
h. Phase II program plan and estimated cost.
Phase II Program Plan Demonstration Phase
This phase will incorporate the design of Phase I into
working hardware for a demonstration which will be operated for
at least 12 months under this contract. The major tasks are:
a. Construction
b. Operation
c. Evaluation.
The following subtasks describe the tasks in some detail.
Note that this is a tentative plan and is subject to change
during the Phase I design phase. Also, USBM must approve and
issue a contract change reflecting Phase II work.
System Construction
All hardware specified in Phase I, including instrumentation,
will be ordered. Vendors will be selected based on the best com-
bination of price and delivery. The system will be assembled by
mine personnel under direction of the FMA program manager. An
accurate record of all costs whether chargeable to the program or
not will be maintained.
Emphasis will be placed on achieving a rapid construction
schedule; however, some hardware listed in catalogs will undoubt-
edly have to be manufactured upon receipt of our order. If this
is necessary, it is unlikely that the construction can be com-
pleted in less than 5 months. We do anticipate that the 17-month
Phase II schedule can be met by overlapping the final report task
with the last 2 months of testing.
i
f

u
