Good Housekeeping practices to include
1. securing all fuel and petroleum liquid storage in
leak proof and covered vessels.
2. Inspection and maintenance of all ditches and
culvert intakes to remove obstructions or material^,
that may impede proper drainage control.
3. Berming or other sediment controls in place in areas
where sedimentation may occur from soil or fines
stockpiles.
C. Preventive Maintenance
1. Inspection of drainage ditch and sediment control
structures to insure that sediment loading has not
accumulated to high levels. Cleaning as necessary.
2. Placement of rock cobbles and other rock materials in
areas where sheet washing or heavy stormwater flow
may occur including any areas where slopes exceed 50
within the main drainage patterns.
3. Construction of a sediment control structure
(settling pond] just abo•re the culvert at CR ~7 and
US Highway 50.
4. Site Inspection to be performed by owner during times
of moderate or severe rainfall to assess the
effectiveness of existing controls and to locate
areas needing furr_her controls to minimize storrnwater
impacts.
D. Spill Prevention and Emergency Clean Up Flan
Due to low volumes of fuel kept on site, no SPCC approved
fuel storage plan has been implemented. Although there
are no petroleum absorbents or spill collection materials
on hand, there is sufficient heavy equipment available to
construct berms or containment of petroleum or pror_ess
materials that might be spilled at the site. The heavy
equipment presently on site should be able to contain and
control any spill on short notice to prevent flow into
the Arkansas River.
Within the guidelines of the rederal SPCC Regulations, a
SPCC Declaration will be prepared and filed in 1994.
-8-
