The average annual <br />production of air-dry vegetation is about 1,200 pounds per acre. <br />If the condition of the range deteriorates, sand dropseed, blue grama, red <br />threeawn, and rabbitbrush increase. Range seeding is suitable if the range <br />ie in poor condition. <br />This unit is well suited to homesite development. An alternative to <br />septic tank absorption fields may be necessary in areas near the Arkansas <br />River and tributaries because contamination of [he water is a significant <br />hazard due to the rapid permeability of this soil. A few areas along <br />Bernard Creek are poorly suited to homesite development because the soils <br />are subject to subsidence. <br />This map unit is capability subclass VIs, nonirrigated.
