STOUT-AMICK PIT
Exhibit D--Mining Plan
Access Roads will be constructed to stockpile area, plant site
and Pit Area Phase 1 approximately as shown.
Stockpile area and plant site will be stripped of topsoil
(approx. 6" deep). This topsoil will be stockpiled in the
nortfierly ~; o£ the stockpile and plant acea. The stockpile and
plant area ~•~ill be graded by terraces to accomodate stock piles
and plant or plants in the southerly ~ of the stockpile-plant area
only, Slopes on terraces and topsoil stockpiles will not be
steeper than 2:1,
Pit area phase ~1 will be stripped of topsoil (approximately
12" deep) and overburden (another 4 feet deep) which will lie
stockpiled seperately in pit area phase J.. The gravel in Fhase
one will be excavated from north to south and since this pit
location is on a mesa top, an undisturbed area of approximately 40
feet wide will be left along the westerly and southerly sides
of the pit as a natural site and sound screen of the operations.
It is assumed that phase one area will provide approximately S
years supply of gravel at 40,000 tons per year.
After phase one has been exhausted, the overburden will be
replaced over the area, sides will be sloped not steeper than
3:1 and covered with topsoil. Of course a roadway must be left
along the north edge of the phase to provide access to Phase 2.
Grass seed will be sown on the reclaimed portion of P!iase 1 as
recommended by SCS.
Phase No. 2 will be stripped and the topsoil and overburden
will be stockpiled seperately in Phase No. 3. Mining plan will
follow that for Phase No. 1 leaving an access road along the
north edge of the pit.
Phase No. 3 will be stripped and the topsoil and overburden
will be stockpiled seperately in Phase No. 2. The mining plan
will fellow that for phases 1 and ?.
