2.05.3(5) <br />• portal and yard area for access to the Red Canyon #2 Mine, will begin. .Grand <br />Mesa Coal Company plans to start excavation in the fall of 1981. There will <br />be approximately 2,100 cubic yards of topsoil in this site. [1.283 acres <br />topsoil available (Map 2.05.3(2)(b)-1) x 12.1 inches topsoil available (Section <br />2.04.9(1)(c)(ii)) x 43,560 (square feet per acre) / 12 inches per foot)/27 <br />(cubic feet per cubic yard) - 2,087 cubic yards] <br />As with the proposed sedimentation pond site, topsoil from this site will <br />be removed using a dozer and truck transported for temporary stockpiling. <br />All available topsoil will be stripped. For the location of the temporary <br />stockpile from this site, refer to the Proposed Surface Disturbance Map, <br />2.05.3(2)(b)-1. This temporary stockpile will be the same stockpile as that <br />established for the topsoil removed from the proposed sedimentation pond. <br />This stockpile will be protected with a cover of quick-growing plants, if <br />not utilized right away in the underground development waste disposal area, <br />as for the proposed sedimentation pond stockpile, and will be identified <br />• with a sign. <br />Topsoil will be removed from the proposed underground development waste disposal <br />site in stages. These stages will be determined by the amount of waste generated <br />in the Red Canyon i11 Mine and proposed #2 Mine. Refer to Section 2.05.3(9) <br />for details on the proposed underground development waste disposal site. <br />Volumes of topsoil to be stripped each year in the underground development <br />waste disposal site are estimated in Section 2.05.3(9). <br />In general, topsoil will be removed from a specified area. The specified <br />area will be a site chosen to be utilized for fill with underground development <br />waste. All available topsoil 1n the proposed underground development waste <br />disposal site will be removed with a dozer and immediately redistributed <br />on regraded overburden in the underground development waste disposal site. <br />The topsoil will be redistributed to a depth of six inches. <br />• 110 (Revised 2-26-88) <br />
