2.05.3(5) <br />~ne site in which topsoil will .be removed is in the proposed <br />Jedimentation pond site. There will be approximately 1,950 cubic <br />yards of topsoil removed from this site. [1.198 acres topsoil <br />available (Map 2.05.3(2)(b)-1) x 12.1 inches topsoil available <br />(Section 2.04.9(1)(c)(ii)) x 43,560 (souare feet per acre)/ 12(inches <br />per foot)/(27 cubic feet per cubic yard) = 1,949 cubic yards]. Work <br />on the sedimentation pond site will begin upon approval from the Mined <br />Land Reclamation Division. This will be a temporary stockpile. Due to <br />the shortage of available topsoil, this topsoil will be used in the <br />underground development waste disposal area. If the stockpile will <br />not be utilized shortly, it will be protected by a cover of quick- <br />growing plants comprised of: <br />40 percent Crested Nheatgrass <br />20 percent Russian Wildrye <br />20 percent Intermediate Wheatgrass <br />20 percent Western Wheatgrass <br />Twenty pounds per acre of seed will be used on the stockpiles. The <br />~tockpile will be identified by means of a sign placed into it. <br />The topsoil from the proposed sedimentation pond site will be temporarily <br />stockpiled in the indicated area until it is to be utilized in the <br />proposed underground development waste disposal site. <br />After the surface of the proposed underground development waste disposal <br />site has had its final grading, it will be loosened with the rippers <br />on a dozer to a depth of four to six inches to provide for root <br />penetration. Topsoil will then be transported from the stockpile with <br />trucks and spread out with a dozer to depth of six inches. <br />In reference to Soils Resource Information, 2.04.9, it is noted that the <br />soil from the proposed sedimentation pond site does not require any <br />nutrients or other soil amendments added to it to allow for revegetation. <br />Details on revegetation in the proposed underground development waste <br />~isposal site can be found in the Reclamation Plan, Section 2.05.4. <br />When the proposed sedimentation pond is complete, work on the proposed <br />REVISED November 15, 1983 109 <br />
