mitigation water-supply requirements for the NUCLA and NUCLA
EAST mining areas are discussed in Chapter 3.0. The plan for
augmentation, presented in Chapter 4.0, includes items
requiring Court approval for plan implementation, the
allocation of water rights used for augmentation, the
augmentation plan's operational details, and the surface- and
ground-water monitoring plan.
Summary and Conclusions
The results show that PCC has rights to a reliable
supply of water for industrial use by virtue of: 1) an
absolute 4 acre-foot storage right for an existing reservoir
(Pond 001) at the NUCLA mine, and 2) 114.5 acre-feet
(• consumptive-use credit associated with PCC's ownership of
twenty-seven (27) shares of the Colorado Co-operative
Company. The Colorado Co-operative ditch has several very
high priority rights which divert from the San Miguel River
(Table 1 and Figure 1).
Potable water to the NUCLA EAST facilities will be
supplied by the town of Nucla via a new pipeline. For the
existing facilities, potable water will continue to be
supplied from an underground cistern which is periodically
filled with water delivered by a water truck from the town of
Nucla.
~~
4
GEOTRANS,INC.
