PCC is submitting to the State of Colorado an
application to revise the permit for the NUCLA MINE to
include the proposed NUCLA EAST mining area. Sections of the
permit application deal vith rights of water required for
municipal use (potable water supply) and industrial use (dust
suppression, construction compaction make-up water, water
losses due to evaporation, water to augment impacted water
rights). PCC is required to show that it has the necessary
water rights to adequately satisfy mining and augmentation
water-supply requirements and also to provide a plan for
augmentation of impacted water rights.
GeoTrans Engineering and Construction Services, Inc.
(GEOTRANS) was retained by GeoTrans, Inc. to provide
i
technical assistance on water-rights issues related to the
permit revision for the NUCLA mine.
