also between the pit and the West Lateral Irrigation
Ditch.
- Monitor the flow rates in Calamity Draw for changes
that may be caused by inflow of water into the pits.
Figure 2 shows specific locations of piezometers and a
•
surface-water monitoring station. The piezometers have been
located to track the influence of pit excavation on drawdown
and the interaction, if any, between the pit and Calamity .
Draw and the West Lateral Irrigation Ditch, for two
monitoring phases. Phases land 2 correspond roughly to the
periods 0-3 years, and after three. years of mining,
respectively. The surface-water monitoring station basically
supplements PCC's extensive monitoring program by providing a
station immediately upstream from the permit boundary.
Additional details of.PCC's monitoring program are contained
in Tab 15 of PCC's permit application.
The following should be emphasized:
1. The proposed monitoring program should be imple-
mented in the phases designated in Figure 2.
2. Proposed monitoring site locations are tentative.
Actual site locations will be subject to receiving

30
GE07RANS, INC.
