C & M is the owner of some 79 acres of the site and <br />the lessee for an additional 35 acres (please see Exhibit R- <br />Legal Description). C & M Companies will be the pit operator. <br />P:Lease find enclosed all required Regular Operations (112) <br />Application submittal materials. <br />Tlie proposed operation will affect 114 total acres. Mining will <br />account for 79 acres. Other activities including stockpiles, <br />setbacks, and plant site account for the remaining 35 acres. The <br />excavation will be to a typical depth of about 15'. The mining <br />wall be conducted as a dry operation. The pit will be dewatered, <br />with discharge to the St. Vrain River. An NPDES permit will be <br />obtained for the dewatering activity. The plant operation will <br />c~~nsist of screening, crushing, and classifying. <br />Application has been made to Weld County for Mining Use by <br />Special Review action. The County has also been forwarded a <br />Flood Hazard Development Permit application, All County concerns <br />regarding traffic, roads, noise, dust, and other matters will be <br />a~9dressed. <br />Tl~e excavation will expose groundwater. <br />l,ske water surface after mining. The operation is expected to involve ten phases, each <br />anticipated to last about ene year.
