A preferred mix for the area ie 8 lbs, Indian
ricegrase, 10 lbs. western wheatgrase, and 2 lbs. P.L.S., per
acre of one of the following: blue grams, needleandthread,
muttongrass, and intermediate wheatgrass. 20r of the
reclaimed acreage will be seeded and established, in not more
than 0.1 acre plots, to adaptable forbs such as scarlet
globemallow (Sohaeralcea coccinea), and "Handers" Rocky
Mountain penstemon (Penstemon strictus). Noxious weeds will be controlled yearly in reclaimed
areas until an acceptable stand of grasses and forbs are
established
CRUSHING At this time the pit is located in roughly the center of the
Phase I area. Crushing operations will proceed to the
southeast and then to the north in such a way that the
east-half of Phase I is completed when this permit expires.
The Forest Service stockpile will be located by the county in
an area readily accessable for use by the Forest Service.
The Forest Service will provide a sign for its stockpile.
The Forest Service will continue to get 8c of the total
volume of crushed gravel as stated in the Project Agreement
between the county and Forest Service signed on July 6, 1990.
The county will provide to the Forest Service on a yearly
basis the total amount of gravel crushed, and the volume and
gradations of material furnished to the Forest Service.
The county will conduct a gradation test consisting of the
standard T-27, T-89, and T-90 tests for the Forest Service
share of gravel. A copy of the test results shall be given
to the Forest Service at the end of each crushing season:
PIT DRAINAGE Care should be taken to leave a slight crest in the middle of
the pit so as to provide positive draininage to the
west-southwest, and to guarantee the pit will not become a
mudhole. No breaches will be made to the drainages on either
side of the pit, but rather all moisture will be drained to
one location in the southwest corner to create a water
impoundment for wildlife.
Page 10
