STUDY TYPE: DMRQA 23 RTC RTC Lab Code: RT1982
STUDY NUMBER: DMRQA 23 EPA Lab Code: 0001007
DMRQA WETT Study 23 Instructions
Section A: Permittee Reporting Responsibility
1. Determine the laboratories that will perform your DMRQA Study 23 tests. You must use your usual laboratories to
analyze DMRQA 23 samples.
Note: If you routinely perform any analyses (Chemistry or WETT) at your facility (in-house laboratories) such as pH or TRC,
these tests are required to be conducted on-site. If more than one laboratory performs the analysis for a particular analyte, the
laboratory performing the majority of the analyses must analyze the samples for DMRQA 23.
2. Send these Study 23 instructions to your laboratory. Inform each in-house or contracted support laboratory that
routinely produces DMR data for your NPDES permit which tests they must conduct and report to you.
3. Make certain that your in-house and/or contracted labs understand and complete all requirements. Each laboratory
must use the USEPA assigned Laboratory Code on all reported results. Th;;se are available from Mr. Charles Feldmann, 140
USEPA Facilities, 26 W Martin Luther King Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45268, (S 13)569-7671.
4. Verify that you received the samples and report form that will satisfy your DMRQA 23 requirements. Contact RTC
immediately for replacements if you received the incorrect or damaged samples.
S. Perform analyses within the deadline of August 29, 2003.
6. Obtain the results of your tests for the DMRQA 23 and complete RTC's Data Report Form(s).
7. Verify the information on the preprinted NPDES Permittee Da[a Report Form. If any information is incorrect or missing,
complete the form. A blank form can be downloaded at www.RT-Corp.com (password required). Check off each analyte that
applies to the Permit. If no analytes are checked, no report will be generated for that permit.
8. Make copies of the NPDES Permittee Data Report Form and the RTC Data Report Form. This creates the RTC Data
Packet.
Send to: Resource Technology Corporation
DMRQA Testing Coordinator
P.O. Box 1346
2931 Soldier Springs Rd.
Laramie, WY 82070
FAX: (307)745-7936
9. By August 29, 2003, submit the RTC Data Packet to RTC and to your State and Regional Coordinators.
Note: RTC will evaluate your data and send a Performance Evaluation (PE) report to you, your State and Regional
Coordinators and the USEPA by October 31, 2003 (generally within 2 weeks after the close of the study).
]0. Investigate any discrepancies or "not acceptable" data reported by RTC. You must identify and report the causes and
your system changes to correct discrepancies to avoid their recurrence. This signed report must be sent to you primary
regulatory authority and DMRQA coordinator by December 8, 2003.
11.
