"EXHIBIT I"
Soils information attached to be found is (1) on this page a letter from
the United States Department of Agriculture and (2) on the following pages attached
hereto as part of Exhibit "I" is a report by Chen and Associates which is
CONFIDWrIAL with regard to the soils in the area, specifically the sand
and gravel.
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE - P.O. Box 487 - Brighton. Co. 80601 _
uue'i Soils Information - Bromley Property I)All 10/17/77
Strong Bros. Excavating, Inc.
Mr. Donald Marturano
3470 S. Sherman - Suite ►2
Englewood, Co. 80110
The soils found on this property are Loamy Alluvial Land and
Terrace Escarpments. Loamy Alluvial Land is found along the
broader drainageways that have a high water table and formerly
had poor drainage. The soils are moderately deep (20-36 inches)
over unconsolidated sand and gravel. Normally, they are non-
calcareous, but may be influenced by soluble salts in certain
locations. Thin layers of sand, silt or fine gravel may be
found. This soil absorbs water at a moderate to slow rate and
available water capacity is high. Natural fertility is h1Ch but
needs to be supplemented under intensive• miiagem•nt. Hest of
these soils are irrigated end beets, corn, small grains and
vegetables are grown.
The Terrace Escarpments are found on the steeper slopes
along the river cources. They consist of alluvium of various
materials over sand and gravel. The surface layer varies in
reaction from place to place. Slopes vary considerably and with-
in short distances. In some areas, the slopes are too steep,
too shallow or too unstable for cultivation. Much of this land
is being mined and thereafter used as a dumping ground.
If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate
to call.
Sincerely,
Norman J. Wells, Jr.
Range Conservationist
"E?JIIBIT I" Soils Information
Page 1 O
