Box 295, Parachute, Colorado 81635
Phone number: 970 285 9119
Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) annual reporting is required for facilities that have
releases of Section 313 Toxic Chemicals into the air, water, or soil. The 313 Toxic
Chemical List is provided in Appendix F. The report requires quantification of all
releases on a calendar-year basis. Reports are due every July 1 for the previous calendar
year. Upon review of information obtained to date, American Soda will only have three
materials on the EPCRA 313 list: sulfuric acid, components of gasoline, and components
of diesel. It is not likely that these materials will be released into the environment;
therefore, the report may not be required. American Soda will implement a
comprehensive inventory system to confirm that no releases have occurred.
3.7 Other Requirements
The Yankee Gulch Project includes a pipeline corridor between the Piceance and
Parachute Sites and well field piping at the Piceance Site. As described in Section 2.0,
the pipeline corridor contains two pipelines: one that carries product from the Piceance
Site to the Parachute Site and one that carries mine water from the Parachute Site to the
Piceance Site. The well field piping carries mining fluids between each solution mining
well and the initial processing facility at the Piceance Site.
A spill response plan has been developed for the pipeline. This plan is part of the
Pipeline Plan of Development, which will be included in the final EIS. It will also
become part of the final version of this Response Plan.
A spill response plan for the well field, which primarily covers the well field piping, is
provided in Appendix G.
10
Preliminary Response Plan
Yankee Gulch Sodium Minerals Project
American Soda, L.L.P.
