Since this area is intended for recreation and wildlife habitat, <br />various trees and shrubs should be planted to provide a diverse <br />habitat. <br />a. Native traea could include: <br />1. Caragana <br />The trees and shrubs should ba planted in a 1-2 inch deep basin with <br />a 2--4 inch high berm of material encircling the tree approximately <br />1'~ feat from the stem. Trees should bs planted randomly no closer <br />than 20 feet apart sad the shrubs should be pleated no closer then <br />3 feet apart in clusters. The 3 feet vide basin should be kept free <br />of needs and the trees should be watered at least 3 times during the <br />summer for the lrt 2 years. <br />4. Grass seed should be drilled to a depth of ~, inch. <br />5. We need to have a map showing the 100 year flood. <br />6. We are concerned that the rives will break into the pit area and <br />break out, thus changing the course of the river. A larger buffer <br />may need to be left on the west Bide of the pond. This buffer may <br />need to be baalced on the went edge and rip-rapped for addad protection. <br />The northeast rnrner may also require some work. <br />
