~~~ LANDMARK
RECLAMATION, INC.
June 18, 1993
Ms. Sarah Plocher
Colorado Department of Health
Water Quality Control Division
WQCD-PE-B2
4300 Cherry Creek Drive South
Denver, CO 80222-1530
Re: Permit No. COG-850000
Stormwater Management Plan
Dear Ms. Plocher,
III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
The Stormwater Management Plan required by the COG-850000
permit which is included in the Rimrock Coal Mining Permit
Application is as Follows:
Landmark Reclamation is the Operator of the mine for Rimrock
and we are responsible for maintenance of the plan at this time.
Mark Kerr is the responsible person at Landmark.
Mining has been permanently terminated at this operation and
the mine has been backfilled, topsoil replaced, graded, and seeded.
The sediment pond embankment outslope has been seeded. There is a
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan in place. There
have been no spills and "no discharge" has been reported to the
Colorado Department of Health and the EPA, on a quarterly basis
since the mine opened. There are no buildings on site and there no
materials stored on site. One small portable coal crusher remains
on site but will be removed in the near future. There were 7 acres
disturbed by the operation.
As indicated on the map the facilities include diversion
ditches and a sediment pond. A small area exemption application is
in process to include any disturbed area runoff that may not be
received by the current sediment pond. The exempt area is
indicated on the map as well as the control structures in place at
the mine. Once the Technical Revision Application for the small
area exemption is approved, all of the disturbed area runoff at the
mine will flow through a control structure, except the outslope of
the sediment pond.
There are no operations, processing activities, stored
chemicals, mine drainages, tailings ponds, significant dust or
particulate generating activities, any kind of waste disposal, or
stockpiles of any kind that may be pollutant sources.
9901 South Windermere Street, Littleton, Colorado H0120
Telephone: (303) 795-5130 Fax: (303) 795-3299
