CRANES <br />1. Except during instruct ron by a qualified person, <br />cranes shall be opera led by trained personnel only. <br />2. Only authorized persons shall enter the cab. <br />3. All ct ones shall be inspected by a competent <br />person before operation and any defects oftecting <br />salety shall be reported and correc led promptly. <br />4. Make sure all persons and objects are clear before <br />moving the machine. <br />6. Sound horn twice belore any inovemen[. <br />7, A standard signal system shall be posted on the <br />crane, alttl the crane operator well take signals only <br />from one slg nalman. If in tloubl about a sipnal, the <br />operator Shall not move any part of the crane until <br />a clear signal is given. <br />8. Rated load limits shall be posted in the crane. <br />Outnggers shall be used when operating the boom. <br />9. Always test the brakes and check the boom angle <br />when lifting a load. <br />10. Make sure all slings, ties, and hooks are properly <br />placed and secured belore hors png. <br />11. Chains shall not be used for hf ring heavy loads. <br />12. Tag-lines shall be used when handling long or <br />bulky loads or when traveling wish materials. <br />13. A11 out ngge rs shall be used and the boom angle <br />changed as needed prior to attempting a lift of near <br />maximum loads. <br />14. Do not slow the crane boom too raped ly when <br />carrying a load since the momenwm of the load <br />could upset the crane. <br />15.
