Getting on or off moving equipment is pro- <br />hibitetl. <br />13. Eating lunch or resung under, in front of, or be- <br />hind parketl mobile equipment is prohibited. <br />DRAG LINES <br />1. Except during instruction by a 4ualified person, <br />dragll nes shall be operated by trained personnel only. <br />2. Draglines shall be inspected by a competent <br />person before operation and any detects affecting <br />safety shall he reportetl and corrected promptly. <br />3. The standard signals to be used on all draglines <br />ere: <br />Stop ... .. .One Horn Blast <br />Start .. .Two Horn Blasts <br />Watch Oiler ..... Three Horn Blasts <br />4. After any interruption in operation, the operator <br />must signal that h¢ is shout to start the machine. The <br />operator will not star) the machine until the oiler <br />checks and clears the machine and gwes the acknow- <br />ledgement signal. <br />5. Persons wishing to mqunl or dismount draglines <br />shall notify the operator or oiler; and, before board- <br />ing or leaving. all operations shall cease and the horn <br />sounded once. The operator or oiler shall watch to see <br />that all persons are in the clear and sound the horn <br />twice before continuing the operation. <br />6. When mounting or tl~smounting draglines, always <br />face the ladder. <br />7. Jumping Irom pads on the draglines to the <br />ground is prohibited. <br />8. Walking draglines are to take no more than three <br />steps without the oiler showing himself to the op- <br />erator. 11 the oiler must be within three machine steps <br />Irom the tub, he shall signal the gperator to stop. <br />Page 14 <br />9. Draglines shall nether operate nor travel on un- <br />stable grountl. <br />10. When the machine is stopped, the swing lock will <br />be in place. <br />11. Draglines shall be placed in a stationary pose lion <br />with locked brakes to perlorm any type of lubrication <br />or maintenance in hazardous areas. <br />12. Rubber gloves tested to 20,000 volts shall be <br />worn when handling energized high-voltage Power <br />cable. <br />13. When ropes are used to move power cables, <br />there Shall be two rope tie~olfs not less than Three feet <br />apart. <br />14. No person shall drive over unprotected high- <br />voltage power cable. <br />15. No maintenance shall be performetl on the boom <br />or mast whil¢ the machine is in motion. <br />16. Salety belts shall be worn when on the boom or <br />mast and ued off when performing any maintenance. <br />DRILLS <br />1. Except during instruction by a qualified person, <br />drills shall be operatetl by trained personnel only. <br />2. Drills shall be inspected by a competent Person <br />before operation and any defects al letting safety shall <br />be reported and corrected promptly. <br />3. Sound horn before movement. <br />4. Drill steel, bits, tools, and other equipment shall <br />be secured and the mast placed in a sale pos~uon when <br />moving Irom one location to another. <br />5. The operator shall face the tlirection of travel, <br />and the helper or other au lhorizetl person, where <br />assigned, shall be on the ground ~n a visible position to <br />direct the move. <br />fi.
