Mr. T. McKee <br />July 12, 2005 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />used to grow alfalfa. A small irrigation ditch runs from north to south through the middle <br />of the pazcel (Figure 2). In 2002 this ditch was described as grass lined. Since that time <br />cattails (Typha sp.) have become established in and adjacent to the ditch (Figure 2). At <br />the south end of the ditch a small berm forces the water to flow east into another ditch <br />that dead ends near the southeast comer of the pazcel. On the west side of the berm there <br />is a channel that flows west and then south into the Big Thompson River neaz the <br />southwest comer of the parcel (Figure 2). Mining will disturb about 0.4 acres of the <br />wetlands associated with this ditch. <br />Please inform us whether the wetlands associated with the ditch fall under the Corps' <br />jurisdiction.
