•
Mine Block 1, which is located to the south of the Yampa Valley Electric Transmission Line
accounts for an area of approximately 19.83 acres and Mine Block 2, which is located to the north
of and including the YVEA transmission line totals approximately 21.13 acres of land. All of the
azea proposed for mining is shown on Map 3, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Mine Plan Map. The
location of the proposed mine pit access road is also shown on this map. The location of the
proposed northern haul road is shown on Map 5, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Facilities Map and on
Map 6, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Milner Vicinity Map.
The type of vegetation covering the proposed mine area and in the areas immediately adjacent to it
are shown on Map 2, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Existing Conditions Map. As are shown on this map,
relatively dense stands of Narrowleaf Cottonwood trees and willows occur to the north, west, south
and east of the proposed mine pit. There are a few willows and some wetlands found in depressional
areas of the proposed mine pit area. All other areas of the proposed mine pit area are dominated by
Mountain Big Sagebrush with an understory of Western Wheatgrass and Kentucky Bluegrass.
A total of 21 exploration drill holes or test pits described in the "Geotechnical Investigation and
Slope Stability Evaluation -Proposed Camilletti River Pit" which report is enclosed with this Permit
Application, in the vicinity of the proposed gravel pit area revealed that groundwater was
encountered all of these test holes and pits at between five and seven feet deep.
Several mamnade structures occur within 200 feet of the area to be affected by mining. There is a
property boundary fence which borders the eastern side of the proposed northern haul road which
is shown on Map 5, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Facilities Map. Location of the existing Clark Ditch
is also shown on this map. The locations of al] of the other existing structures in the vicinity of the
proposed mine pit azea are shown on Map 2, Camilletti AQilner Pit # 2 -Existing Conditions Map,
Map 3, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 Gravel Pit -Mine Plan Map and on Map 6, Camilletti Milner Pit
# 2 -Milner Vicinity Map.
There is an existing buried telephone fiber optic cable which has been placed along the east side of
Routt County Road # 179. Parallel to this is a buried natural gas transmission line. Immediately to
the east of the existing property boundary fence is an overhead electrical transmission line. Routt
County Road Number 179 is located approximately 300 feet to the east of the proposed mine pit and
at the origin of the proposed mine access road. Approximately 200 feet to the north of the proposed
mine pit lies the Yampa River. Trout Creek lies between 60 and 700 feet south of the proposed mine
area.
This EXHIBIT was prepared by
Kent A. Crofrs
19 March 2001
6
