• Exhibit "E"
1993
Reclamation Plan
Grand County
Kremmling Airport Gravel Pit
Reclamation of the mining site will commence upon final extraction
of materials. It is estimated that this site has an approximate
five (5) year life for sand and gravel extraction. Reclamation
will be in accordance with recommendations and stipulations as set
forth by the Soil Conservation Service personnel and the
Reclamation Plan approved with the issuance of the Mined Land
Reclamatioh permit for this pit.
Reclamation work will begin by reshaping and recontouring the pit
area to conform, as near as possible, with adjacent topography,
natural land forms, ahd the future proposed use of the site. This
proposed use is industrial, This work will be done by Grand
County Road and Bridge personnel under the supervision of Clark
Branstetter, Grand County Road and Bridge Supervisor. The work
will be done with a dozer and scraper. Recontoured slopes will be
kept at an average of 2:1 wherever possible. Cross sections of
the site along with pre and post contours are provided as Exhibit
F to this application packet. Some slope modification might occur
immediately offsite to the North to allow the creation of natural
• contours and compliance with the finished grading plan. This
adjacent property is owned by Grand County and can be utilized.
Revegetation of any disturbed off-site property will be properly
reseeded according to the requirements for the mined area as
stipulated by the Soil Conservation Service. All areas will be
mulched immediately after seeding with one (1) ton of weed free
hay or straw per acre. The mulch will be disced in to anchor it
from the wind. At no time will slopes be greater than 2:1. It is
estimated that the maximum depth of the reclaimed pit area after
recontouring will be approximately 30 feet.
Any stockpiled topsoil will be spread over the entire reclaimed
pit area using a dozer and/or scraper. It should be noted that
there is little, if any topsoil available as overburdeh on this
site. This fact is verified by the site report from the Soil
Conservation Service dated April 30, 1993 (see attached).
Presently has no topsoil stockpiled on the site.
Grand County has approved the construction of a 60,000 acre/foot
storage reservoir in close proximity to this gravel pit site.
Grand County is attempting to arrange with the Colorado River
Water Conservation District, the permittee of this reservoir
project, to obtain some of the topsoil that will be removed from
the reservoir site. If successful, Grand County will haul this
topsoil to the Kremmling Airport Gravel Pit and stockpile it for
future reclamation. Grand County has the equipment and manpower
• available to accomplish this transfer of topsoil. If this source
of topsoil is not available, Grand County will obtain the proper
