The
Soil Conservatiod'Service Report shows 27 planned acres. This should be 40
acres.
Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs, Page 5
We have stated in our reclamation plan that the backfilling of the
quarry would be carried on simultaneously with our mining operation.
The overburden is brought to the bottom of the quarry to create the
series of reclaimed benches and from time to time, we will move our
crushing operation up onto one of these new benches. Therefore, the
majority of our reclaiming becomes part of our mining cost. The
resulting reclamation costs would be final grading and contouring,
spreading topsoil, revegetation, mulching and fertilizing.
Because of this type of operation, it is nearly impossible to arrive
at quantities except for the revegetation. The quantity of topsoil
respreading is also an unknown because the area is dominated by rock
outcrops, as the Soil Conservation Service reports. We will respread
all topsoil we can salvage.
Due tQ the difficulties in determining these quantities, we would like
to suggest that the warranty be arrived at the same as is done for
a 111 Permit. That is $2500.00 per acre. We would furnish a Corporate
Surety Bond as financial warranty for the entire 40 acres.
