Monitor.ing.Requiremznis (con't) <br />(Applies to Coal Mines Only) <br />According to the Consolidated Permit Regulations (Fed. P,eg. Vol. 45. <br />.Jo. 98, May 19, 1°80), the permi ttee is required to submit a one-Cir.,e <br />analysis of their discharge(s), for certain specified pollutants. <br />The facility is usually non-discharging. Therefore, as soon as there <br />is a discharge, the permittee shall sample in accordance with the <br />following requirements: <br />(A) All samples must be analyzed for the 13 toxic meCals. <br />Total Cyanide,-and Toia]_Phenols, as listed in Part V-C, <br />1-15, ak`'the Consolidated Permit Application Form 2-C. <br />All samples must be analyzed for the parameters believed <br />present, that are listed in: Part V-B, a-x (the naturally <br />occuring pollutants); and Part V-C, the four GC/MS <br />Fractions. (All the parameters listed in this paragraph <br />- are~also listed in the above-referenced regulations, <br />----'° Appendix D to -Part"122, Tables II, 111 and IV.) <br />(D) For mine water or drainage from an open pit or underground _ <br />mine, a sample must be analyzed from each discharge point. <br />(C) For surface runoff controls, if there are several with <br />discharges, it is not necessary to sample the discharge from -~ <br />each facility, provided that those sampled will be repreent_- <br />ative of the various discharges.
