Summary <br />Approval of Sunnyside's R/Y application would facilitate completion <br />of their mined land reclamation project at Lake Emma and possible ore <br />haulage from the Sunnyside Mine. <br />The environmental impacts of the proposal have been assessed; they <br />proposed route and construction methods as mitigated by Special <br />Stipulations, attached as Exhibit B, should minimize adverse imp+ncts <br />to the environment. Construction, rehabilitation, and any other <br />surface-disturbing actions associated with the proposed R/W will be <br />monitored, as time and funding allow, by the Realty Specialist or <br />Environmental Protection Specialist, San Juan Resource Area. <br />II. Recommendation <br />I recommend that Sunnyside Gold Corporation be granted a BLM <br />right-of-way to improve San Juan County Road 25 between the Eureka <br />townsite and the Sunnyside Mine near Lake Emma. The term of thy: R/W <br />should be 10 years, with an option to renew; dimensions should ~e 150 <br />feet in width, with the travel surface width limited to a maximum of <br />25 to 30 feet, as shown on the applicant's maps 1I1-4, and <br />approximately 2.05 miles (10,840 feet) in length. The R/x grant <br />should be subject to Special Stipulations attached to this repcrt as <br />Exhibit B. <br />
