• Run Off Calculations and Sediment Pond
Appendix Kl and K2 are memos from Dr. D. B. McWhorter, Hydrologist, providing
information on the runoff estimate for the mining site, also, sediment production, sediment
pond size, and diversion capacity. Appendix K3 is an engineering report with drawings
prepared by Wright- Mclaughlin Engineers on sediment pond and drainage ditch designs.
Since the sediment level in Pond #2 is practically nothing after ten years of use, and since
this pond has never had measurable water in it for more than twenty-four hours except
during the unusual precipitation events of 1995, and has never discharged, all other ponds
have been removed from the plan.
Mans
Listed below pursuant to Rule 2.05.3, are maps included in the Appendix to furnish
additional information on the reclamation and closure plan for the mine.
* Surface Features Map (Appendix Ml)
* Recent Permit Area Map (Appendix M2)
* Post Mining Reclamation Contour Map (Appendix Q)
* Coors Site Plan -Vegetation Sampling Locations (Appendix Q)
* Final Grading and Drainage Plan (Appendix Q)
• Facilities Removal
The following facilities will be removed as time and use dictate. All unsalvageable
portions of these facilities will be buried at least four feet below final grade (AOC), the
area topsanded and revegetated.
* Office, shop and warehouse
* Equipment parking lot
* Drainage ditches and ponds
* Sewage treatment facility
* All roads
* Electrical distribution system
* Potable water system
* Explosive storage facilities
* Monitoring wells
Drainage System
Please See Appendix K "Drainage Plan II" for details.
• Diversion ditches and the sediment pond have been constructed to control run off from the
permit area. Diversion ditches have been constructed along the access roads and around
105 5/96
