3. In the event of a solvent spill (Flash Point z 140°F) in the shop: <br />a) Secure the area to prevent ignition. <br />b) Call Emergency Spill Coordinator. <br />c) Have adequate fire extinguisher(s) on hand. <br />d) Dispense appropriate absorbent (absorbent sheets or floor dry). <br />e) Transport contaminated materials to the appropriate storage <br />area. <br />4. Proper procedures fora hazardous waste paint thinner, solvent with <br />(F.P. < 140°F) or listed substance in 40CFR.261.31 spill at the shop <br />will be followed. Pursuant to 40CFR Part 262.34(d)(iv) (B) and (C), <br />the following procedures will be taken in response to a hazardous <br />material spill at this facility: <br />a) Contain the flow of hazardous material and have adequate fire <br />extinguishers on hand. <br />b) Contact emergency spill coordinator. <br />c) Clean up the hazardous material and any contaminated materials <br />or soil with absorbent sheets, booms, floor dry, etc. <br />d) Transport contaminated materials to the appropriate storage <br />area. <br />5. In the event of hose failure or compartment rupture on a piece of <br />mobile equipment, respond in the following manner. <br />a) If the material threatens to enter a ditch or drainage, blade a <br />berm around the spill area. <br />b) Notify Emergency Spill Coordinator <br />5 <br />
