b) Mobilize appropriate fire fighting equipment. <br />c) Notify the Emergency Spill Coordinator. <br />d) Blade a berm around the spill to prevent further spread of the <br />material. <br />e) In the case of a gasoline or bulk solvent spill, if appropriate, <br />apply an adequate amount of water to minimize the fire hazard, <br />but do not unnecessarily spread the petroleum product. <br />f) Recover the pooled petroleum if possible, and store the material <br />in drums. <br />g) Excavate the contaminated soil and haul it to the appropriate <br />storage area. <br />2. In the event of an overturned fuel tanker truck on the access road: <br />a) Secure the area. <br />b) Notify the Emergency Spill Coordinator. <br />c) Mobilize adequate fire fighting equipment. <br />d) Mobilize suitable equipment to block roadside ditches with <br />overburden material, to prevent drainage into river. <br />e) Notify vendor to respond with second empty tank truck if <br />possible. <br />f) Pump pooled liquid into second tanker or 55 gallon drums. <br />g) Excavate contaminated soil and haul it to the appropriate <br />storage area. <br />4 <br />
