Briefly describe the process steps used in producing the product.
Include a process flow diagram and a discussion oY chemicals used at
the site and their final disposition. State the Yinal disposal oP
wastewater streams.
The mine has been closed and the site is being reclaimed. It
presently is in Phase I of the Division of Mineral and Geology's
reclamation process. When the mine was operational; bituminous
coal was brought to the surface from a 600-800 ft. deep
underground mine. The unwashed coal was then trucked off site to
the New Elk mine for further processing.
The mine site has been contoured and a cover crop pl.snted on the
disturbed areas. No discharge from the mine was noted during the
inspection and the reclaimed areas appeared in good condition.
Also, SEDCAD+ modeling of the site indicated that the vegetative
growth at the site was adequate to meet the settleable solids post
mining limitation of 0.5 mg/1. Regular field inspections
