Dan and Bemard Knott
Knott Land and Livestock Company, Inc.
.- Star Route
Oak Creek, CO 80467
November 11, 1998
Greg Lewicki
Greg Lewicki and Associates
1645 Court Place Suite 309
Denver, CO 80202
Dear Greg:
We are the surface owner of the reclaimed Apex #2 Mine in Routt County, Colorado and our
family has lived in the Trout Creek valley and have owned this property long before mining
commenced at this site. I can say that prior to mining, the yard area for the Apex #2 Mine was
primarily thick willows, which were not suitable to any type of special agricultural use.
Also, the limiting size of the azea (< 4 acres) prohibited any kind of special use for this site. The
post-mining use of grazing will be an agricultural improvement to the pre-mining condition and
we are satisfied with the current reclamation plan for the site.
Bernard Knon
~r-1J r I V L1~
_, .. ~rerals !} Geology

2EVlaEO 6~i~~9~
wiz -3
~"~;(' ~ 1 19yc
T2-ra
